History in the making

2014 has been my year. I’ve challenged egos. Got thousands of people to loft up. And given pros and amateurs alike more distance, more accuracy and more success. It’s been one hell of a ride - and it’s only just begun. Now there's the SLDRs, SLDR Mini Driver and SLDR White, we’re even more of a force to be reckoned with. As I hit my first birthday, let’s look at my journey so far.

Loftup goes on tour

The SLDR was first introduced to tour players at the
Scottish Open in July 2013, creating an awesome buzz.

“It’s solid! Great acoustics and hot flight.”
Justin Rose

“The look of it’s fantastic.”
Darren Clarke

“It’s good the fact the ball comes off so much faster.”
Boo Weekly

“It’s great. I love it. I don’t think it’ll be leaving the bag any time soon.”
Lucas Glover

“The player feedback has been phenomenal.”
Paul Loegering, PGA TOUR manager

David Lynn
Stephen Gallacher

David Lynn lofted up at the Portugal Masters 2013 and became the first player to win a tour event with an SLDR in his bag. The win moved David inside the coveted top 40. And his final round of 63 (-8) is the lowest final round by a winner, and also in relation to par.

The SLDR helped Stephen Gallacher successfully defend the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in February. Switching to SLDR turned previously unreachable par 5s into successive birdies. Made all the sweeter with a stunning eagle on the 16th to finish three clear with a huge smile.

#1 driver on Tour since the Scottish Open 2013

8 global tour wins and counting

All of these pros used the SLDR during the tournament they won.

David Lynn claimed his first win on tour for nine years at the Portugal Masters 2013.

Dustin Johnson’s win at the WGC-HSBC Champions 2013 meant he’s won in each of his first seven seasons on the PGA Tour – the most by any player
since Tiger Woods.

Henrik Stenson won the DP World Tour Championship 2013 with a soaring eagle three on the final hole.

Dawie Van Der Walt won at the Nelson Mandela Championships 2013 by two shots after a final round of 66.

Sergio Garcia birdied the third extra hole to win the Qatar Masters 2014.

Stephen Gallacher retained his Dubai Dessert Classic title at the start of the year.

Martin Kaymer dominated the course at the US Open 2014.

Mikko Ilonen snatched victory at the Irish Open 2014 with one shot.

US Open 2014 Victory

Martin Kaymer

Martin Kaymer walked to victory in the US Open 2014 with an SLDR. Four days of dominance was set in stone after two opening rounds of 65 made a permanent mark with a course record. The only player from the last eight to break par, this was a real show of strength from Martin and the SLDR.

High praise

Accolades have poured in for the SLDR. And why not - in just one year it’s changed the way golfers think about their driver and become #1 on tour. Lofting up has grown from an innovation into a movement, lead by a lower, more forward CG in a stunning new driver.
